Kenneth Lowman, Broker/Owner of Luxury Homes of Las Vegas has just listed the former home of Ameristar Casino’s CEO, Craig H. Neilsen. Neilsen died unexpectedly on November 19, 2006. Neilsen was the majority owner of Las Vegas based Ameristar, a company which he built from the ground up and now has operations in five states, including Nevada.
The home was originally purchased by Neilsen in 1996 for $1,350,000 while still in the framing stages. Neilsen, who was a quadriplegic, retrofitted the home with two elevators, one an impressive glass elevator at the foyer, with the second providing private access from the master bedroom to the backyard. Neilsen also commissioned Seattle design firm, Boehm Design, to custom make all the furniture and supply the artwork. The home is now being sold fully furnished with the artwork included.
Situated in the exclusive guard gated community, Canyon Gate Country Club, the home boasts a double fairway golf view with lakes and waterfalls and a view of downtown Las Vegas and the city lights. Featuring 6,203 square feet, the home includes floor to ceiling butted glass to maximize the views, granite fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen with double dishwashers, built-in booth seating, an oversized walk-in marble shower, four bedrooms, an office, a loft sitting area, security cameras and fire sprinklers. The multi-level rear yard features a 51 foot long infinity edge pebble tech swimming pool, covered patios, BBQ and mature palm trees.
Neilsen, who lived with a spinal cord injury incurred in 1985, founded the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation in 2003, which focuses on spinal cord injury research and treatment. Most of his vast fortune was left to this foundation. Neilsen’s legacy includes wonderful generosity and community spirit. In 2002, he was honored as “Best Performing CEO” by the American Gaming Association, and in 2005 he was inducted into the American Gaming Association’s Gaming Hall of Fame.
The turnkey sale including the custom furniture and artwork is listed for $3,250,000. Broker, Kenneth Lowman, noted, “it is not often such a world-class estate like this comes on the market for sale, this home has it all including dynamite views and custom quality throughout. It is an honor to present such a prestigious property.” Lowman can be reached at www.luxuryhomesoflasvegas.com or 702-216-4663.
